Company Profile

JP Marshall Engineering is one of Waikato‘s largest and most experienced engineering providers.  We have been servicing the greater Waikato and beyond for the past 40 years.

Originally founded by Jock Marshall, today JP Marshall Engineering is headed in the second generation by Peter Marshall.  The 23,500-sq.ft. Workshop is located on a 1.25-acre site in Te Rapa on the northern outskirts of Hamilton and is home to a staff of 50.

JP Marshall is a market leader in the design supply and installation of grain storage and management systems.  Our involvement in the grain industry began in the early 1970's when JP Marshall Engineering took advantage of our proximity to both the Dalgety and Wright Stephenson's grain processing facilities in Te Rapa, Hamilton and provided a range of engineering services to both companies. This included the manufacture and installation of elevators, conveyors augers, dryers and silos.

Over the intervening years we have provided and installed various pieces of additional plant to both sites.  In 1979, we undertook one of our bigger projects, the construction of Canterbury Malting's new facility at Marton.

As Kerry O'Neill, Manager of our Grain Division, described it..."We were first on site and last to leave..."

The two-year greenfield project involved the construction and assembly of 21 silos and associated mechanical handling equipment as well as various other facilities.

In recent years grain-related projects have been successfully undertaken for some of the major grain processors in the North Island. These include PGG Wrightson, Te Awamutu Grain Ltd, Ingham Enterprises Mt. Maunganui, AA Welch Ltd Tuakau, Allied Grain Co-Operative Te Awamutu and Corson Grain Ltd, Gisborne.

The business has been built on the old adage "no job too big or too small".  This philosophy along with trained staff, customer dedication and up to date technology ensures we continue to maintain our reputation as a leader in our field.
